What can I expect post-treatment?

Downtime is 3-5 days.

Day 1:

Redness/pink skin, dry and tight feeling,

most appear to have a mild sunburn.

Day 2:

Mild edema, which is usually worse on

the second day.

Day 3:

Skin may still appear slightly pink as the

skin begins to return to a normal color.

Edema is subsiding.

Day 4-6:

Minimal swelling and flaking of the skin

is prevalent.

Day 7:

Enjoy your glow.

It is important to follow your post-treatment

procedures given by your health care professional

for most favorable results.

How many treatments are needed?

It takes 4 weeks for the collagen to mature, so

additional treatments should be spaced at 4- to

6-week intervals, as necessary. Optimal results

can be obtained with a series of 3-4 treatments,

4-6 weeks apart. For deeper wrinkles, stretch

marks, greater sun damage, and acne scars,

6-8 treatments are recommended at 4-6 week

intervals. Adding high-quality chemical peels in

between microneedling treatments may also be

incorporated depending on the area being treated.

Is anything added to the skin during the

microneedling treatment?

Yes! In addition to growth factors and hyaluronic

acid, PRP (platelet-rich plasma) supercharges the

microneedling benefits. PRP is derived from your

own blood. A small amount of blood is drawn

into a vacuum collection tube containing a cell

separator, and in a few minutes your autologous

plasma is ready — liquid gold.

Aging skin is a fact of life. The sun, air pollution,

hormonal changes, diet, stress, and smoking all

contribute to the physical and biological changes

our skin must endure over the decades.

But take heart: Medical science is providing new

and exciting breakthroughs to turn the tide.

Compare areas of your skin that are never exposed

to sun with those that are. You will see that your

skin still has the ability to look amazing.
