AUGUST 2022 COVER FEATURE: Dave Schroyer (62) of Schroyer, Inc. in Celina, OH owns this beautiful 1986 GMC “5-Star” General with an all-original 475-hp 8V92 Silver Detroit, a 13-speed, and a factory installed 60” Bentz walk-in sleeper. In addition to this neat old truck, Dave has over 30 antique trucks of various makes and models, as well as a museum trailer he pulls to truck shows around the country filled with trucking photos and memorabilia. This photo (and the entire photo shoot) was recently dug out of our archives and has never been shared – it was taken by our own co-founder Erik “Big E” Sieben in October 2009, the day after the very first GBATS show was held at 4 State Trucks in Joplin, MO. Erik passed away three years ago this month, and this month’s cover feature and centerfold are dedicated to his memory.
