10-4 Magazine / August 2026 23 This month we feature a show truck that was owned and operated by Bette’s good friend and 10-4 Magazine’s “Trucker Talk” columnist, Kim Jaikes (Kim Grimm back then). This beautiful light blue metallic 1999 Kenworth W900L named “Illusion” was powered by a 550 CAT mated to a Eaton-Fuller 13-speed pushing power to 3.55 geared rears on 22.5 tall rubber. The Kenworth rode on a 270” wheelbase and was equipped with an 86” Studio sleeper. The interior sported a full Diamond Tued VIT package, with custom parts from Rockwood, along with custom wood floors and cabinets by Kim’s brother, Paul Wiley. Pulling a matching 2001 Utility reefer, this truck ran the west coast and back and had over two million miles on it when Kim sold it in 2009 (it was also featured on the cover of our November 2005 edition).
