I appreciate this industry – male-dominated, yes, but I feel respected and welcomed here. Some are surprised at first, since I’m a woman, but that fades fast and what’s left is just equal people working and having fun together,” said Sonya. As our conversation came to a close, I asked Sonya if she had a favorite truck she had photographed. Her passion has never been about photographing one particular make or model – it’s about telling the story behind every truck, every owner, and every company she works with, through her camera lens, one click at a time. Thanks to Sonya Messier for sharing some of her favorite truck photos, taken over the years, for this article. n
