Clint’s Creations: By Clint Moore In the ar ticle from 2011, we had a fleet of 25 company trucks and 10 owner operators. In 2017 Diamond Trucking acquired Jonesco Trucking in Flagstaff, AZ. At that time, we had 42 trucks in our fleet, based between Phoenix and Tucson, AZ. With the acquisition of Jonesco we suddenly had a total of 70 trucks, and also added an incredible team of people and terminals throughout the state of Arizona and nor thern New Mexico. We are incredibly thankful to Mike Nesbitt, the owner of Jonesco Trucking, for the oppor tunity to be a par t of his legacy in the fuel hauling community of nor thern Arizona. A couple years later, we decided to jump off the deep end and star ted a wholesale fuel business, and Miller Oil Company was born in 2019. Our goal is to be a “one call and it’s done” business. Currently we are a Marathon branded Jobber, with other brands available, as well as unbranded fuels. With our current fleet This month’s creations were built for the Miller family at Diamond Trucking in Phoenix, AZ. I featured these amazing folks back in April 2011, and just delivered two stellar new rides to them a few months ago, as they celebrated their 40th year in business. These builds were special and represent the yesterday and today of Diamond Trucking. Last time, Jess Miller sent me a great write-up I used for the 2011 ar ticle, and this time P.J. Miller sent a well-written and well thought-out response to me. So, once again, here is their company update... in their own words! Well, 10-4 readers, it’s been a minute (April 2011) since we were first honored to be featured in “Clint’s Creations” and 10-4 Magazine. Our good friend Clint Moore has asked us to give an update on what we have been up to for the last 12 years or so, as we just took delivery of a couple more special trucks from him to add to our ever-growing fleet of gas-hauling rigs. 10-4 Magazine / March 2023 53 today at 73 units based in Arizona, New Mexico, and Oklahoma, we are presently serving much of the western por tion of the United States. 2022 was a special year for all of us at Diamond Trucking as we celebrated our parent’s 40th year in business. Our parents, Dennis and Diann Miller, star ted Diamond Trucking in 1982 with a 1973 Diamond Rio. We also happened to live on Diamond Drive in nor thern Colorado at the time. By now, I am guessing you know where the name of our company came from. To celebrate and surprise our parents (with the help of Clint Moore and Kansas City Peterbilt), we did our best to replicate the looks of that Diamond Rio on a 2023 Peterbilt 389. To also add to the accomplishment, we themed a second new truck to show where we have come with our fleet and our wholesale business. We presented units “1982” (Legendary Green with vintage white and gold stripes) and “2022” (light gray with an orange frame) to our folks on December 3, 2022. We felt it was fitting to recognize this monumental accomplishment on “National Gas Hauler’s Day” (December 3rd). And here we are. 40 years of “Passing Gas First Class!” Now, three generations of Millers are working in the family business, and we continue to grow and look ahead to future oppor tunities. Thank you, mom and dad, for everything! Congratulations once again to Diamond Trucking for all the growth and success – and for these two amazing new rides. Thank you for allowing us to be a par t of all the fun! Special thanks to PJ Miller for the write-up and Matthew Unruh and Chloe Miller for providing the photos for this ar ticle. ~ Clint Moore 40 YEARS OF PASSIN’ GAS
