10-4 Magazine November 2021
52 10-4 Magazine / November 2021 It is the unfortunate but immutable truth that we all will lose friends and family throughout our lives. No matter our preparedness for such eventualities, it will never soften or erase the pain. Heath Ray Rickner, born August 9, 1984, has been an outsized, perennial, and cherished institution for many throughout the high western plains. Heath, or “Heef” as many of us knew him, was a character to say the least. A tried-and-true “boo-hauler” oilfield and heavy haul hand, Heath wore many hats. For most of us, however, the hat we were most familiar with was one of friend, family, or both. Ready to help no matter what, whether it was transport or truck shows (Heath has been integral to the annual barbecue at Wilkins Oklahoma Truck Supply’s Busted Knuckle Truck Show), Heath’s heart was as broad as his industry experience. Survived by his fiancé Becky Baker, we were all faced with saying goodbye to Heath much too early on September 2, 2021, when Heath passed away from medical complications related to Covid. He was only 37 years old. Regardless of your stance on Covid, loss is loss. Becky, we at 10-4 Magazine wish to extend our deepest sympathies and sincerest condolences to you. We cannot fathom the feeling of loss you are experiencing. To all of us that called Heath a friend, family, or both, remember Heath for who he was – a kind, gregarious, and caring person who always ready to help. May we all endeavor to follow his example. Heath, we’re going to miss you. Slip her into gear, Heef, ease out on that clutch and roll on, my man. We will meet you down the highway when the time is right.
