NOVEMBER 2024 COVER FEATURE: www.tenfourmagazine.com Ken Stearns (77) of Hoquiam, WA owns and operates this 1975 Kenworth W900A log truck. Purchased new as a glider kit, the truck has had several di erent powertrains and has accrued over 3.5 million miles. Currently, the truck has a Cummins N14 Celect Plus hooked to a 6-speed Allison automatic, which Ken put in the truck back in the 1980s. Operating this rig every day for almost 50 years, Ken is a third generation log trucker, and his grandson Chandler Boles (27), who just started driving a log truck a few years ago, is the fifth generation!!
