Craig Richard Davidson Sr., beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2024, at the age of 73. He was born on January 1, 1951, in Newton Centre, MA. He was the son of Alber t R. Davidson Jr. and Gwendolyn Palmer Davidson Chapin. Craig was a 1968 graduate of Cornwall Academy in Great Barrington, MA. Throughout his life, Craig cherished his time with family and friends. He most recently resided in Kissimmee, FL, where he enjoyed the warm weather and beautiful golf courses. Golfing was one of Craig’s favorite hobbies, and he could often be found perfecting his swing on the greens. In addition to golf, Craig had a passion for good food, and loved indulging in veal parmesan or a juicy steak! When it came to music, Craig had a soft spot for country music and the soothing melodies of the Beach Boys. These tunes brought him joy and touched his hear t. Craig had a distinguished service record, having served in the Army for 4 years. He bravely served a tour in Vietnam, along with special assignments, demonstrating his unwavering dedication to his country and fellow soldiers. However, nothing brought Craig more joy than trucking. He had an affinity for the open road, par ticularly if he was behind the wheel of a chromed-out Peterbilt adorned with mesmerizing lights. The freedom and adventure of the highway were truly his sanctuary. Spor ts also held a special place in Craig’s hear t. He passionately suppor ted the Boston Red Sox, the New England Patriots, and NASCAR, cheering them on during their victories and standing by them in challenging times. Craig Richard Davidson Sr. will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends. His memory will live on as they remember his warmth, kindness, and unwavering love. May he rest in eternal peace. Craig is survived by his wife Margaret Davidson of 42 years in Kissimmee, FL, his sister and brother-in-law Debbie and Rick Fuore of Lenox, MA, and his brother and sister-in-law Clifford and Mary Jane Chapin III of Hopewell Junction, NY. He is also survived by his son Craig R. Davidson Jr. and his granddaughter Bethany V. Davidson of Dallas, TX, along with his stepdaughters Michelle Schmidt and Nichole Toner, grandsons Kade and Camden Toner, and granddaughter Reese Toner of St. Cloud, FL, along with many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Craig’s name. n May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in His hand. ~ Traditional Irish Blessing 10-4 OVER AND OUT “RUBBER DUCK”
