10-4 Magazine / October 2026 25 This month we feature a 1986 Western Star 4964F with a 63” sleeper that was owned and operated by Lester Harvey of Shermantown, PA. Riding on a 265” wheelbase, the Star Car was powered by a 3406B CAT mated to a 13-speed, with 3.42 rears, Reyco air-ride, and 24.5 tall rubber. The trailer is a 1986 48’ Utility reefer that was painted to match. Named “Scottie’s Toy” after his son and with “Kimmie’s Playpen” on the sleeper after his daughter, Lester always had his kid’s names on his trucks. Now 72 years old, Lester has been trucking for over 56 years and has over nine million miles behind the wheel! Bette took this photo (and others) at a dairy in Mechanicsburg, PA back in 1986.
