28 10-4 Magazine / October 2026 with fresh tire shine on his truck and trailer wheels, headed to get a load of cattle. He enjoys seeing and meeting the old school boys that are still in the game, saying, “These are the humble cowboys with the shiny rigs that are easy to talk to and have more stories than you could imagine. They are the coolest to run with and talk to when out on the road.” Shawn also loves seeing the passion his one-year-old son Chuck already has at such an early age. He will sit in the seat, try to shift gears, and turn the wheel. It’s obviously in his blood, too! I first met Shawn a few years back when he owned a K-100 Kenworth cabover. That truck was very cool, and we shot it at the same location as the first shoot of this 352. But, Shawn sold it not long after that, so we never featured it. However, since then, Shawn and I have kept in touch, talking here and there on the phone or at a show, and when I saw this Peterbilt 352, I knew I had to shoot it. As humble as he is, Shawn was taken aback when I approached him about wanting to feature this truck. The photo shoot took place at two separate locations. We used the farm that Shawn lives on for a few of the photos, and then the farm where he keeps the cattle, for the second part of the shoot. It was awesome to be able to use his family’s property for part of the shoot. While we were doing it, Shawn’s other brother was zipping around on his beautiful 1954 Ford tractor, so I decided to park the truck next to it for a few of the photos. It was an absolutely gorgeous evening in Pennsylvania, and we took full advantage of it. This was by far one of my personal favorite shoots to date for various reasons. When it comes to the people to thank, first and foremost, Shawn wanted to thank God for all the opportunities and the safety He provides on the road and at home. Shawn also wanted to thank his friends and family for their help and support over the last few years, especially since starting their business. Without them, none of this would have been possible. He would also like to acknowledge the old school guys who have offered much help and assistance. Without their knowledge and guidance, personally and professionally, Shawn would not be where he is today. However, Shawn would especially like to thank his wife Tori for “keeping the home fires lit and the babies cuddled” when he is away. She helps him keep a boot in two industries that are very unforgiving, have no schedules, and are highly demanding. Between sick cattle, trying to make hay while the sun shines, and running out for emergency loads here and there, Tori holds the fort down! And for that, he is forever grateful. Not everyone loves those old noisy and smelly antique trucks, that can sometimes be less comfortable and often hard to find parts for, but for those who enjoy kickin’ it old school, like Shawn Hoover and so many others, nothing is better! And we here at 10-4 Magazine couldn’t agree more!! There’s nothing wrong with the new stuff, but nothing hits quite like a classic Peterbilt cabover, hooked to a loaded cattle pot, strolling down the super slab. n
