HOW TO GROW A WINTER VEGETABLE GARDEN Take advantage of our mild winters by growing an edible vegetable garden in your backyard or container. CONTAINER GARDENING INSIDE AND OUTSIDE Don’t let lack of ground space deter you. Everything from arugula to zucchini can be grown in containers. START AN HERB GARDEN OR EXPAND AN EXISTING ONE An herb/spice garden can easily be grown in a garden bed or container. They are among the easiest plants to grow so great for beginners. For most herbs the best time to plant them is now, early fall. Topics include selection, maintenance, harvest, and storage. Everyone who participates will take home their own herb plant. SCARECROW MAKING CLASS (13+ MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT) Get ready for the annual scarecrow contest during Fall Funtastic at the Beverly Hills Farmers Market. Bring some old clothing tops and trousers and either an old shoe bag or pillowcase for the head and we’ll supply the basic PVC framework for you to decorate. Instructor: George Pessin.
