Fall is also a season of festivity, and we have a series of incredible events to bring the community together in good fun! We hope you are inspired to join us! Fall Greetings! • Let me begin with wellness! Do you agree it’s important for all of us to balance our physical, mental and emotional well-being by enjoying some self-care? In September, we have a day devoted to holistic health with our Beverly Hills Day of Wellness event at Roxbury Park! We hope that by providing people with a number of free workshops, information and resources, that it will help you lead a more vibrant and balanced life. • Have you ever wondered about the stories in a historic home? At Greystone Mansion, you’ll learn about the family who lived there long ago, way before the city acquired it and turned the grounds into a public park, through our monthly program, Inside the Mansion Self-Guid- ed Tours. Join us for a variety of additional happenings at this enchanted estate, including Greystone in the Movies, The Great Outdoors at Greystone, and Gardening Workshops in the Greystone Demonstration Garden. • Our Farmers’ Market not only offers a variety of fresh produce and specialty items, but of- tentimes is the venue for some excitement and competition like the upcoming Picklefest, and Holiday Craft Fair & Cookies Bake Contest. And don’t forget to join us for the Fall Funtastic event where Halloween meets Day of the Dead! • On our Arts & Culture front, we will hold our bi-annual fall Beverly Hills Art Show on October 19 & 20 in Beverly Gardens Park. And join us monthly for Artwalk Guided Tours, where you can learn about specific artwork that is part of the City’s public art collection. • Our Recreation Division not only provides a wonderful array of classes all season long, but they have special events too, including, the Greystone Gala Family Dance and Holidays at Greystone in December. • And, last but certainly not least, our amazing library offers programs like the book club, author discussions and, of course, is an essential resource for finding reading materials, literary assistance, an array of digital materials, programs for children, tutoring, homework help, and more! Before I leave you, I also hope you’ll join us this fall for BH Reads. The Community Services Department, in partnership with the Beverly Hills Unified School District, the Beverly Hills Education Foundation, and the Human Relations Commission invite you to read, “We Were the Lucky Ones,” by Georgia Hunter and meet the author for a book discussion on September 15 at El Rodeo school. You can find out more about our current special events at beverlyhills.org/csevents, or follow us on Instagram and Facebook @communitylifebh.
