3 A NOTE FROM OUR COMMUNITY SERVICES DIRECTOR Dear Beverly Hills Community, Where did the summer go?! Hard to believe we are now embarking on our Fall Session 2022. Your Beverly Hills Community Services Department has been hard at work designing unique offerings for fall including unique Preschool & After School Enrichment programming for the 22/23 School Year. Thank you for this incredible opportunity to serve you & for all of your support as we reopened our public facilities and brought the community back in- person. After what has been an unprecedented public health crisis, we in your Community Service Department remain dedicated to bringing you an array of exciting fall offerings – whether onsite or online– we aim to keep you active, engaged, connected & entertained this fall & all year long! Here are some highlights of the exciting programs & services coming your way this Fall 2022: • Explore and get engaged locally in all of Mayor Lili Bosse’s amazing Healthy City Initiatives – Business with Bosse, Live with Lili and the Mental Wellness Series – join us for social connection & inspiring special events in celebration of this amazing community and the small town character that defines it! • Preschool fun abounds this fall as we continue to provide our uber popular preschool program with early childhood education, enrichment, arts & crafts and social engagement activities for our little ones! • Exciting Adventure Camp onsite & online activities. Designed to keep kids engaged, healthy & safe, our After School Adventure Camp provides fun enrichment activities in caring camp pods. • Beverly Hills Fall Art Show returns to its full glory 4-block footprint! On Saturday & Sunday, October 15 & 16, spend the weekend in the wonder of local artisans and their original handmade creations, visit with an artist and hear them talk about their work and participate in outdoor hands-on artmaking and Arts & Crafts workshops! www.beverlyhills.org/artshow • Celebrate the Fall Fiesta at the Beverly Hills Farmers’ Market , Sunday, October. 30th, 9am-1pm! • Visit the incredible Beverly Hills Public Library now open! We are thrilled to welcome the community back onsite with expanded hours and access to our outstanding book collection and library materials while continuing our awesome array of Online Library & Digital Services which provide virtual access to the latest books, music, movies & more. Get into the groove with some great books and read all season long! • Great Outdoors at Greystone! – Saturday, Sept 17th join us for a day long festival of activities that help to animate and celebrate the natural beauty of green areas of Greystone including the Demonstration Gardens – activities include seedling plantings, knitting circles, plein air painting, magic hour photography, tours of the beautiful Greystone grounds, and more! • And if you haven’t yet treated yourself to one of our new Beverly Hills ArtWalk Tours – we invite you bring family & friends! Expanded for August – December 2022, this pilot program features specialty guided docent tours, held once a month, of various City sculptures, artworks, nature (floral & fauna), and historical points of interest surrounding Beverly Gardens Park and beyond! All tours take place on select Sundays (Sept 11, Oct 2, Nov 13 & Dec 11), starting at 11am.
