This summer join us on an unforgettable adventure where you will see, touch, and interact with live animals. Learn about them, their habitat, what they eat, some cool facts about what makes that individual species special. Follow along as the animal handler takes you on a jungle-themed, nocturnal-themed, farm-themed, and desert-themed DAY! Handle an 8 ft snake, walk a 6 ft lizard, touch the softest chinchilla, hold a parrot, pet a camel, and much more. Instructor: ACE Enrichment 9551 9:00am - 12:00pm M - F 6/26 - 6/30 $300/$375 Location: La Cienega Community Center (Indoor) Specialty Camps CULINARY DUDE’S SUMMER COOKING CAMP [6 - 12 yrs] Our hands-on cooking camps will enable kids to find their inner chef. The Culinary Dude has created a wonderful collection of daily menus that the kids will cook themselves. Using the fresh ingredients, fun and interactive cooking techniques, the kids will prepare meals from scratch each day as they learn kitchen and food safety, professional kitchen etiquette, measuring ratios, prep skills, and table manners. In addition to a wide variety of tactile recipes, kids will participate in additional food-related activities. All camps include lunch for all campers. We offer a variety of cooking camps throughout the year with a wide array of themes. We are a nut-free business and use sunflower seeds and SunButter as a nut replacement unless otherwise requested. Your children are not numbers to us! Unlike other programs who just want your money, our focus is to cater to each child individually, help them where they need improvement and cap our class numbers to keep the class intimate, so your child does not get lost in the masses and feels like they are truly a part of the whole. The kids will be working together during the mornings and afternoons to create their daily lunch. Each meal includes a main dish, side dish, vegetable or fruit dish and a dessert. We will be creating up to 6 recipes a day. Everyone is required to wear face masks during food preparation. This ensures that the results of any spontaneous sneezing or coughing by the child is interceded immediately and the remnants are not added to the food the child is making. During class we offer a “mask break” to the kids upon request. This means that the child moves away from the food preparation area, sits or stands, takes their mask off until ready to rejoin the group. This has worked well in all programs during and after the pandemic and gives the kids a great sense of what food safety & sanitation are all about.
