26 | SPRING 2024 ENRICHMENT CERAMICS - INTRO TO HAND-BUILDING [18+ yrs] Learn the basics of working with clay while creating fun projects in this structured, beginner-friendly class. Hand building is a relaxing, forgiving way to explore pottery without thewheel andexpress yourself creatively. Students will learn the fundamentals of pinching, coiling, slab construction, and glazing. Fee includes all class materials and ring. $25 material fee is payable to instructor at rst meeting. Instructor: Jacqi Lee. CERAMICS - OPEN STUDIO TIME [18+ yrs] This is a non-instructional time for potters to practice independently and develop their projects while connecting with others in a relaxed, communal setting. Participants must have previous experience with wheel throwing and/or hand building and feel comfortable working in the studio on their own. Staff will be around to ask questions but will not offer lessons. Fee includes a designated shelf, studio glazes, and ring. Clay must be purchased separately. Instructor: Jacqi Lee. 1. SEED STARTING PARTY Get ready for summer with some of our favorite varieties of tomatoes, eggplants, hot peppers, cucumbers, summer squash, and basil. VEGETABLE GARDENING 101 For beginner and intermediate gardeners, learn best practices for growing a successful vegetable garden with the intent of harvesting something every day. GARDENING [18+ yrs] 3. HOW TO DEAL WITH PESTS AND DISEASE IN YOUR BACKYARD GARDEN Integrative pest management employs various methods to deal with pests and disease in your vegetable, ower, and fruit garden. Learn best practices to protect and care for your plants. 4. HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN VINEGAR Apples, pears, persimmons, pineapple, leftover wine, all make great vinegars. It’s healthy, easy, and fun! Once you get started you’ll never need to buy vinegar again. Sign up for all four classes and get one FREE! FRIDAY MORNING GARDENING CLUB Join our Friday volunteer crew that helps maintain the Greystone Demonstration Garden and pollinator hillsides. You may put on your garden gloves to join in or simply sit and watch the birds while enjoying the camaraderie of other garden loves. You must arrive between 8:30am - 9:00am. The cost is free however pre-registration is required.
