A MESSAGE FROM OUR COMMUNITY SERVICES DIRECTOR Summer is upon us and we’re ready to go into the season buzzing with action as summer camp season kicks off and a wide array of class offerings over ow with opportunity. From new drop-in options for seniors including Fun with Cards, The Spirit of the Drum, Game Night, Computer Basics, and Tai Chi, to engaging play for tots like Bubble Blast, Mini Movers, and Playground & Play, plus a rich slate of summer classes and workshops for the whole community, there is something for everyone to enjoy this summer! Parks Make Life Better!® Month, recognized by the California Parks & Recreation Society, is a public awareness campaign to promote the bene ts of parks, recreational activities and the importance of bringing people together of all ages, enriching the lives of our community members and visitors. To celebrate Parks Make Life Better!®Month, join us for a series of fun and engaging events throughout the month, including the kickoff event at Concerts on Cañon, with a Community Picnic. This fun game offers friendly competition, teamwork and social fun! Join us! JEWISH AMERICAN HERITAGE MONTH: We have a variety of activities this May, celebrating Jewish American Heritage Month. Don’t miss our special author talk with well-known cookbook author, Adeena Sussman her new book: Zariz! Enjoy this easy, breezy, Tel Aviv-y conversation with Adeena and recipe-developer, Sivan. Limited seats available! BEVERLY HILLS ART SHOW: You won’t want to miss this premier art show with 250 artists exhibiting their work along four blocks in beautiful Beverly Gardens Park. Meet the artists, learn more about their techniques and who knows, maybe you’ll be inspired to paint your own masterpiece, or buy one of theirs to showcase in your own home! SUMMER READING CLUB: The Beverly Hills Public Library kicks off the Summer Reading Club May 26 and runs through July 26. During the program, the library will host a range of free activities including Terri c Tuesdays Family Entertainment and Teen/Tween programs to encourage and support a love of reading for all! ARTWALK GUIDED TOURS: Yayoi Kusama’s Hymn of Life: Tulips featuring three larger-than-life tulips covered in Kusama’s iconic dots has returned to Beverly Gardens Park and you should see this newly refabricated sculpture in its full glory, along with many other pieces by world-renowned artists, at one of this summer’s Art Walk Guided Tours! CONCERTS ON CAÑON: We’ll be kicking off our summer concert series on June 4th with the David Gab Band at Beverly Cañon Gardens. PARKS MAKE LIFE BETTER!®MONTH (PMLB): Join us for an array of activities all month long, including the PMLB Month community kickoff at Concerts on Cañon on July 2, to kick off the month-long campaign. FESTIVAL BEVERLY HILLS: Join us in July for live performances, interactive displays and workshops, and more all celebrating our vibrant, diverse community! MOVIES, TOURS AND PLAY READINGS: Join us at Greystone Mansion for movie screenings during Preservation Month in May and all summer long, as well as guided tours “Inside the Mansion,” and Play Readings in Greystone Theatre!
