28 | WINTER 2025 Enrichment THE ART OF PRUNING (ROSES, HERBS, AND FRUIT TREES) Join us asa we demonstrate hands-on the art and science of pruning (cutting back) our rose bushes, perennial herbs, and various fruit trees. This practice will greatly increase the health and well being of your plants. Min participants: 4 INTRODUCTION TO FOOD PRESERVATION Our ancestors have been preserving food for over 10,000 years. See what all the fuss is about! Four basic methods will be dicussed: Drying, Freezing, Fermentation, and Canning. Learn new ways to enjoy your favorite fruits and vegetables. Don’t allow any of your harvests to go to waste! Min Participants: 4 GARDENING [18+ yrs] INTRODUCTION TO PLANT PROPAGATION You’ve grown something you like. How do you reproduce it? How do you share it? We have options - seed saving, propagation, and cloning. We will teach you best practices to create and save your own heirloom varieties or collect new additions from friends and neighbors. Everyone gets a new start to take home. Min Participants: 4 SATURDAY MORNING GARDEN CLUB Join our volunteer crew to help maintain the Greystone Demonstration Garden and the grounds around it including Pollinator Hill. Seasonal activities include pruning, transplanting, fertilizing, weeding, propagating, etc. Think of it like day camp for adults! Put on your garden gloves to join in or simply sit and watch the birds and enjoy the camaraderie of other garden lovers. Please arrive between 8:30 AM - 9:00 AM. We usually meet for two hours. The cost is free however pre-registration is required. Min Participants: 0 Adults CERAMICS - OPEN STUDIO TIME [18+ yrs] This is a non-instructional time for potters to practice independently and develop their projects while connecting with others in a relaxed, communal setting. Participants must have previous experience with wheel throwing and/ or hand building and feel comfortable working in the studio on their own. Staff will be around to ask questions but will not offer lessons. Fee includes a designated shelf, studio glazes, and ring. Clay must be purchased separately. Instructor: Jacqi Lee. Min Participants: 8 CERAMICS - INTRO TO HAND-BUILDING [18+ yrs] Learn the basics of working with clay while creating fun projects in this structured, beginner-friendly class. Hand building is a relaxing, forgiving way to explore pottery without the wheel and express yourself creatively. Students will learn the fundamentals of pinching, coiling, slab construction, and glazing. Fee includes all class materials and ring. Instructor: Jacqi Lee. Min Participants: 8
