8 FALL 2024 North of Ridgemoor Road, east of Phoenix Way, south of Sun City Boulevard, and west of Valley Boulevard Drive, this project involved resurfacing existing pavement by grinding and overlaying asphalt concrete. It also included the removal and replacement of 17 existing non-compliant curb ramps, curb, gutter, cross gutters, striping, and signage. This new project will connect the Paloma Wash Trail between Central Park and the commercial areas along Haun Road providing walkers and bike riders with a safe and convenient travel option. The bridge will be well-lit, have aesthetic architectural features, and accommodate both walkers and bike riders with ramps and paths that are easy for all users. PALOMA WASH PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE LOCAL ROAD ASPHALT CONCRETE AC RESURFACING This project was a priority project to help improve pedestrian safety for students traveling to and from Bell Mountain Middle School and Mt. San Jacinto College. The project included resurfacing and restriping roads, adding dedicated lanes for bicycles, building ramps that comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), installing rectangular rapid flashing beacons, creating a median pedestrian refuge island, adding dual streetlights, and constructing six highly visible crosswalks. LA PIEDRA ROAD AT BELL MOUNTAIN This pilot program installed solar-powered streetlights at key locations including intersections and cluster mailbox locations within the Quail Valley area. QUAIL VALLEY GRID AREA STREETLIGHTS This project improved a section of 3rd Street, northeast of Highway 74, west of Antelope Road, and south of Watson Road. The work included removing, replacing, and widening the road, as well as adding curbs, sidewalks, and ADA ramps within the project area. Around 111,000 square feet of roadway along 3rd Street were improved as a result of the project. ROMOLAND GRID AREA 3RD STREET As part of the City’s annual Pavement Management Program, various streets west of the Interstate 215 (I-215) freeway, north of McCall Boulevard and south of Newport Road, were slurry sealed. The project consisted of resurfacing the existing roadway by applying slurry seal and cape seal to existing pavement and removal and replacement of 18 existing non-compliant curb ramps, curbs, gutters, cross gutters, striping, and signage. SLURRY SEAL PROGRAM Parking lot improvements are on track to be completed at the Kay Ceniceros Senior Center and La Ladera Park this September! Renovations included the removal and replacement of pavement sections in both parking lots. KAY CENICEROS SENIOR CENTER PARKING LOT RENOVATION & LA LADERA PARK ENHANCEMENTS PARKING LOT RENOVATIONS Located in the new Civic Plaza, this project has been designed to consider the parking needs for the anticipated City Hall building and Central Park enhancements. With the future Central Park Amphitheater expected to host large events, the project would provide approximately 300 parking stalls to include handicap- accessible parking and designated spaces for future electric vehicle charging stations. The project also includes the installation of lighting, irrigation, landscaping, drainage, and water quality facilities.
