16 WINTER 2024 ROAD IMPROVEMENTS IN CONSTRUCTION This project will improve the left turn lane for westbound tra’c on McCall Boulevard at Sun City Boulevard increasing capacity and reduce congestion. The work will include clearing and preparing the ground for the new road to install a four-inch layer of compacted ground and a one-and-a-half-inch overlay on the existing road surface to create a smooth driving area. A new four-inch concrete curb will also be built to shape the extended turn lane and improve tra’c flow. Additionally, existing signs will be relocated, and tra’c-rated pull boxes and new pavement markings will be installed to boost safety on the road. The project is expected to be completed this spring. Construction on the Central Park Amphitheater is taking shape with the recent completion of the east and west pillars, the back concrete storage walls, stage planters, and stairs and is expected to open this summer. Additionally, construction of the Paloma Wash Pedestrian Bridge, which will connect Central Park to shopping centers east of the City, and the Civic Center Parking Lot Project are set to begin this spring. This project involved resurfacing the existing pavement from north of Aldergate Drive to McCall Boulevard. It included the removal and replacement of striping throughout the entire project area, the addition of dedicated bike lanes where the existing pavement width allows, and the installation of new signage.
