SOCIAL INFRASTRUCTURE The City Council’s Strategic Plan includes a focus on social infrastructure aimed at enhancing the lifestyle o erings in Menifee. To support these e orts, the City is dedicated to providing unique experiences, amenities, and enjoyable social gatherings for families. With Menifee hosting 48 city-wide events and partnering on nearly 60 additional events with local agencies and non-profits, there's always plenty to do in Menifee. NEW BUSINESSES AND COMMUNITIES Menifee continues to see strong building growth in several sectors including residential, commercial, and industrial. Over the past year, our Planning Division processed 205 planning applications, while the Building and Safety Division issued more than 5,700 permits and conducted 28,000 inspections. From new standout restaurants and popular retail additions to well-appointed communities and job-creating industries, Menifee continues to attract new businesses to our community. CITY FINANCES AND RESERVES The City is currently in the second year of our inaugural two-year budget cycle. Transitioning from a one-year budget to a two-year budget has enabled us to engage in longer-term financial planning while streamlining and consolidating the budget development process. This approach also enhances transparency through several public reviews, including mid-year and mid-cycle evaluations. The 2024/2025 Operating Budget and Capital Improvement Program showcases intentional planning, ensuring that the City maintains a balanced budget while adequately funding daily operations and planning for long-term capital improvements and facility needs. Additionally, this year the Menifee City Council has rea‘rmed its commitment to the City’s strong financial position by increasing the Reserve Policy amount from 35% to 40%. This increase will help the City e ectively deliver public safety services and maintain service levels during emergencies or periods of financial uncertainty.
