Led by trained teaching artists and assisted by volunteers, TFT’s Creative Clubs provide free after-school programs integrating creative writing, music appreciation, art and theatre. Every child who participates receives a free Art Kit to take home. Community partnerships include the Boys & Girls Clubs of Cathedral City and Palm Springs, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Olive Crest, Hanson House, Coral Mountain Academy and Read with Me. TFT’s hands-on creative experiences promote social- emotional learning, innovative thinking, self- esteem and academic success. TFT’s VISIONARIES support group presents its major fundraiser “Singing in the Rain” on Monday, February 24th at the Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa Rancho Mirage. The gala will honor KESQ’s chief meteorologist Patrick Evans, renowned for his philanthropy and recipient of a Star on Palm Springs Walk of Stars, an Emmy and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Silver Circle. Starting with a champagne reception and silent auction, the dinner show featuring TFT’s Theatre Troupe and surprise performers will be directed by renowned actress Joyce Bulifant and emceed by KESQ’s Karen Devine.
