When it reopens, the theatre will not only celebrate the city’s cultural heritage but also provide a significant boost to the downtown economy. The restoration, while intricate, is being conducted with meticulous attention to detail. Preservation experts are carefully restoring every element, from the ornate plasterwork to the stunning star-field ceiling, ensuring that the theatre’s original splendor is brought back to life. Original decorative stencil work on the proscenium has been recently rediscovered, which had been concealed for more than three decades. The Palm Springs Plaza Theatre Foundation has made significant progress in raising the funds to complete this important project, but it still needs to raise approximately $10 million. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings the team closer to reopening this historic venue. There are many different options to support Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity corporation. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Many exciting naming opportunities are also available. To help restore this cherished piece of Palm Springs’ history, please consider donating today to help preserve the cultural legacy of Palm Springs.
