The fundraising effort represents the community’s role in completing a historic $52 million renovation– the largest in the library’s history. With $45 million in government funding already secured, A New Chapter focuses on the elements that elevate the library beyond bricks and mortar: enhanced community spaces, innovative programming, cutting-edge technology, and a $5 million endowment to ensure long-term sustainability. Together, these investments will double the library’s capacity for engagement while preserving the architectural integrity of both the main library, designed by William F. Cody, and the JC Frey Building. Major renovation is underway at the Sunrise Way location, and the library has temporarily relocated to Rimrock Plaza. To ensure that enhanced features and programming spaces are included in the initial construction phase, the PSPLF must secure community support now. With a generous $1 million match from the Palm Springs Public Library Board of Trustees, members of the Foundation Board are inviting donors at all levels to join them in this once-in-a-generation effort to secure the library’s future as a hub for equitable learning, connection, and opportunity.
