In the last two years Dr. Carreon Foundation has awarded almost $500,000 in scholarships to over 150 students. Nearly half of the awards are for careers in healthcare, a vital segment in this region. Since its formation in 1991, the Foundation has awarded more than $2 million in scholarships to more than 1,000 students. “We are proud that our board has expanded our mission to include minorities of all ethnicities and enlarged our area of service to include all Eastern Inland Empire,” said Executive Director Ricardo Loretta. “Fortunately, our partner and donor base has also grown, so the outlook for future growth is excellent.” The Board has dedicated its efforts and resources to carry out Dr. Carreón’s vision, which was to help his people “be the greatest Americans possible,” while serving underprivileged communities in the area.
