W OMEN IN PHILANTHROPY - PAGE 7 DESERT CHARITIES NEWS KYLE RADKE I started Kyle & Co. to create a new agency model, developing powerhouse solutions for only one reason: client success. Promising an innovative approach to being leaner, better, with a keen awareness of our shared humanity. I am determined to oer major market talent reinforced with long-term relationships and broad local presence. The Kyle & Co. team is behind many of the best local campaigns you know. Strategy-driven and passion-led, we develop solutions with imagination. Something we call solutioneering.™ (Yes, we made it a verb.) The point is, as a partner, we develop solutions that solve business problems as they move people. And having said that, one of the Cornerstones of Kyle & Co. is the commitment to provide the non-profit sector with support. Strategic expertise through award winning executions. Our creative solutions are built to engage with humans about the human condition. Let’s face it, the last year, for many, has been a season of stagnation, and in many cases survival. Business as usual no longer exists. The silver lining is there’s no better time to reinvent. I don’t just believe it. I’m living proof. Proud to be a local female owned and operated successful Coachella Valley business! JACQUELINE GUEVARA Joshua Tree National Park Association Executive Director Making A Dierence The Joshua Tree National Park Association became Joshua Tree National Park’s primary non-profit partner in 1962. Since its inception, JTNPA has provided millions of dollars in cash and in-kind aid to the park to help in the preservation and protection of Joshua Tree. Funds raised via memberships and program campaigns, such as Bighorn Research, join with proceeds from the operation of Joshua Tree’s visitor centers to make that level of support possible. Additionally, JTNPA operates the Desert Institute, an extension of the Park’s education department that provides programming for desert enthusiasts of all ages. MARY GUINANE The Write Answer Owner Making A Dierence One small act of kindness at a time, we can each make a di¡erence. Though there are hundreds of thousands of people living or visiting Coachella Valley at any given time, change happens one interaction at a time. Whether you choose to o¡er a kind word, give the gift of your time and talent in service to others, or to make a monetary donation to one of the many worthy nonprofit organizations in our desert home, each action makes a di¡erence. And together, we’re changing lives and the future of our community for the better. RACHEL HARRINGTON Mama’s House Ministries Executive Director Making A Dierence Mama’s House Ministries serves women in crises - whether pregnant or with an infant or small child - and provides a supportive program for these mothers to gain the education and life skills necessary for self-su¨ciency. It’s a blessing to live in a caring community like the Coachella Valley where so many work together to assist others in their time of need. ANDREA HECHT Tools For Tomorrow Executive Director Making A Dierence Through the Arts, Children learn that they do not have to be perfect. They can be successful in the classroom, and they can be celebrated for their creativity. Children are encouraged to dream and ask questions, building their self-confidence, and developing their pas- sions. In a supportive environment, children work together to learn about artists and cultures. Through social emotional learning, children develop empathy, kindness and respect. Tools For Tomorrow Creative Clubs and The- ater Programs provide hands-on experiences through visual arts, creative writing, music appreciation, and theater for children ages 7-11. TAMARA HEDGES Desert Wildlife Center President Making A Dierence Serving on the Friends of the Palm Springs Animal Shelter board of directors since 2008 has allowed me to use my skills and experience to provide critical, lifesaving services to thousands of companion animals in the Coachella Valley. I am excited about our new undertaking, the Desert Wildlife Center, opening this winter in Indio, serving orphaned, injured and sick birds, mammals, and reptiles in our region. I am inspired by the number of community members who show up, speak up, and step up for those the voiceless. Together, we are making a di¡erence.
