Cathedral Center Becomes Bilingual Service Hub, Challenging Outdated Senior Center Model A VISION New Addressing Emotional Wellness Our Mid-Valley Center for Emotional Wellness provides accessible, bilingual, and holistic social services that build resilience, ensuring mental health is a right, not a privilege. Hola Español Through our Edmundo & Herlinda Carrillo Equity in Aging Initiative, we target the diverse needs of Cathedral City, including our 60% Hispanic community. Led by Bilingual Outreach Coordinator, Laura Gutierrez, the Cathedral Center o ers services where people gather throughout the west valley. Ending Isolation and Providing Food Security Our beloved Food Bank, the Jim Scheibel & Tim Wood Food Security and Humanity Center, supported by Trader Joe’s, Vons, Grocery Outlet, Panera Bread, Starbucks, McDonald’s, Eddie V’s, Krispie Kreme, Crumbl Cookies, FIND Food Bank, Dinner with Patsi, and The Roost Lounge & Foundation, has quadrupled since the pandemic. We’ve surged in programs to combat isolation and foster connections, laughter, and belonging. AVision for the Future We’re excited about our capital expansion to build a 21st Century Community Center for Active Living! This innovative service model is a collaboration between East andWest Valley partners, utilizing the Mid-Valley Center as a hub for Cathedral City.
