He will share a visual presenta- tion of his 500-mile hike on the Camino de Santiago, a spiritual journey of a lifetime. The Camino de Santiago, known as the Way of St. James, is a 1,000-year-old pil- grimage made by Europeans who journeyed to see the tomb of St. James in Santiago de Compos- tela in Spain. Bright traveled on the same path used by Napoleon, and walked on Roman roads from southern France over the Pyr- enees and west through medieval Spain to Santiago. The luncheon is open to the community, and will be held in St. Andrew’s Hall on the church campus, 1855 N. Orange-Olive Road. The doors open at 11 a.m., and the program begins at 11:30 a.m. The program and catered lunch are $15 per person, payable in advance; reservations may be made by calling Linda at (951) 237-9888, and are required be- fore noon on Jan. 16. Reserva- tions are also required to attend the program only at 12:30 p.m.; the cost is $5, payable at the door. As part of Measure S Phase 2, demolition at VPHS has begun. OUSD commences Measure S Phase 2 Orange Unified School District Measure S Phase 1 Science Cen- ters at the four high schools were completed, and Phase 2 has com- menced at Orange High and Villa Park High. At Villa Park High School, the Phase 2 focus is on construction of a new 18-classroom building with restrooms, modernization of the 100/200 building restrooms, addition of a new passenger el- evator, and the relocation of the staircases for the 100/200 build- ing. Construction is anticipated to take about two years. Phase 2 at Orange High School includes a new 26,000 sq.-ft. Ad- ministration and Student Ser- vices building and a Counseling and Health Center. An expanded quad, with increased seating ar- eas for students, and an Alumni Corner will foster collaboration and school spirit. Construction begins in Janu- ary and will continue for approxi- mately two years. The facility is anticipated to open for students and staff early in the 2024-25 school year. Phase 2 projects at El Modena and Canyon High Schools will begin in early and late spring 2023, respectively. The $288 million Measure S construction bond was passed by voters in 2016. The Tustin Area Woman’s Club named Mathilde Hebras and Zoe Ahrens its December Young Women of the Month. Hebras, of Foothill High, is originally from Bayonne, France. She is fluent in French, Spanish and English and aims to learn more languages in the future. She is an International Baccalaureate candidate and President of the Foothill Student Activist Club. An equestrian, she plans to com- pete in International Horse Show TAWC names young women of the month Assn. events. In college, she will major in International Relations and then attend law school. Tustin High’s Zoe Ahrens has maintained a 4.0 GPA and has been on the Principal’s Honor Roll all through high school. She participates on the Model United Nations team, competed on the varsity swim team and has reached the CIF finals the last two years.
