For his Eagle Scout project, he provided 50 no-sew blankets for people undergoing chemother- apy at the Memorial Care Can- cer Institute. "I picked my proj- ect because my mom is a breast cancer survivor. When she had her chemo sessions, she said it was always cold in the hospital,” Baughman explains. “Having a warm, cozy blanket brought her lots of comfort, and I wanted to do that for others. I also want the patients to know that people care and support them in their fight against cancer." Each blanket was individually wrapped and accompanied by a note of encouragement. Baugh- man raised funds for all the ma- terials, and then gathered volun- teers to construct all the blankets that he later delivered to the Can- cer Institute in Fountain Valley. Some have already been handed out by the nurses, and he was told they are much appreciated by the patients.
