State leadership announced, April 1, that all California schools will remain closed through the end of the 2019-20 school year. While OUSD facilities are closed, distance learning and sup- port services will continue, in- cluding online counseling, grab- and-go meals, and device distri- bution and connectivity. The sudden announcement leaves questions regarding grades, commencement, and registration for classes next year. OUSD ad- vises that the state superintendent will soon release guidance to ad- dress those concerns. Parents are urged to stay in touch with their student’s teacher and principal for further updates about online learning. Orange Unified remains committed to supporting the online learning process until the end of the school year. Information about these resources can be accessed at or- angeusd.org/resources. “The Tustin Unified School District is committed to distance learning through the end of the school year,” TUSD Superin- tendent Dr. Gregory Franklin reports. “Parents should stay in touch with their child’s teacher and principal for further updates about their student’s learning.” Parents can access more infor- mation from the district’s website at tustin.k12.ca.us. A new set of paper and pencil learning pack- ets are available for preschool through fifth-grade students and will be distributed at the grab- and-go sites beginning April 7. TUSD will be communicating with parents and the community over the next few weeks about grades, commencement and reg- istration for next year.
