The Los Angeles Angels used funds from the Angels Baseball Foundation to renovate two fields, located on OUSD property next to Anaheim Hills Elementary, for the Anaheim Hills Little League. The project, which took over a year, transformed uneven, gopher-hole-pocked playing areas into first-class fields of dreams. The Angels replaced the grass with 6,500 sq. ft. of hybrid Bermuda and the infield with 75 tons of infield mix. Little Leaguers cheered as Anaheim Mayor Harry Sidhu cut the ribbon at the ceremony attended by Angels owner Arte Morena, Mayor Pro Tem Trevor O’Neil, the original liaison, and OUSD Trustee Andrea Yamasaki. The two pristine fields have been renamed “Big A Ballpark.”
