Canyon faced Long Beach Poly where its season came to an end, winning three matches and dropping two. Remington Glenn from Canyon played the back line to return the serve in the Div. 3 finals. Canyon High Knight Ellie Nguyen dives to save the point in the Div. 3 finals. Kemuel Zhang, pitcher for Canyon High, picked up the first round CIF playoff win over Maranatha High School, 10-6. Gilbert Vargas (17), Canyon third baseman, stops an infield hit in the first round playoff against Maranatha. Canyon faced Servite in the second round. Chip Mertz (1) from Canyon High School high fives Camden Goetz (5) after a three-run blast to win the first round playoff over Maranatha, 10-6. Sean Green from Foothill High takes third base safe after a high throw the Dana Hills player couldn’t handle. Foothill won, 3-0. Jack McGuire pitched for Villa Park first round Div. 1, walked 2 and struck out 2. Villa Park won, 8-7, over Bishop Amat. Jake Nobles from Villa Park High sent the game-winning home run over the fence to take the first round in Div. 1 over Bishop Amat, 8-7. Nobles had 3 RBIs.
