Foothills Sentry August 2020

Foothills Sentry Page 10 August 2020 We’re responding by making at least a three percent cut to our budget. We also plan to dip into “rainy-day” funds. We understand that many of our customers may also be looking at household budget cuts, or facing job furloughs or unemployment. That’s we have also decided to defer a planned water rate increase that would have been effective on February 1, 2021. Our board of directors has taken this step so our customers can focus on recovery and not an increase in their water bills. Just like residents and businesses, EOCWD’s budget has been impacted by COVID-19. Arrow came to the rescue several months ago, as he had been hit by a car and broke his pelvis. He has been on bed rest, and just received clearance from the veterinarian to go on walks and – most importantly – go to a new forever home. Ar- row is five years old, and a real little lovebug. He has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. If you are ready to get big love from a tiny nine-pounder, email Friends of Orange County’s Homeless Pets at fochp@yahoo.com .
