American Legion Post 132 welcomes well-traveled American Flag The nonprofit Nation of Patriots motorcycle group stopped at the American Legion Post 132, Tuesday, Aug. 15, as part of a tour that is escorting an American Flag to all 50 states. The stop in Orange was both a fundraiser, as well as an opportunity for the Post members to be part of a national event. The purpose of the Patriot Tour is to provide financial relief to veterans and their families. One hundred percent of the money raised goes directly to a veteran’s household. To date, the tour has aided 549 families. The event at the Post raised $1,000, with $500 donated by the Post itself. Attendees included most of the American Legion officers from the Orange Chapter, Mayor Dan Slater and Brendon Moeller from Congresswoman Young Kim’s office. The flag is passed from one motorcycle group to another as it makes its way around the coun- try. The bikers that escorted the flag to Orange rode up from San Diego. The American Legion rid- ers took over, Aug. 17, bound for Cornell, California. Bikers brought the American Flag to Post 132, just one stop on its 170,000-mile tour of the nation.
