Wagner placed third. All proceeds from the event were donated to CHOC Local rink produces champion skater Brothers Skunkie and Gizmo are looking for their new fur- ever home. Handsome Skunkie is smart and an active-tail ath- lete, who works out and runs on his circle track, makes toys out of anything, and loves boxes and feathers. Gorgeous Gizmo is the adorable, sweet one that greets everyone and loves attention, es- pecially belly rubs. He will nestle in his cat tree, just waiting for someone to smile and pet him. The guys love to play together and entertain one another. Born Feb. 22, the boys are great with other cats as well as for first-time cat owners, as they are easy-going with humans large and small, vaccinated, neu- tered and litter box trained. They love to be held and nap at your feet. These boys, as well as other gorgeous adoptable felines, are available through local nonprofit MeoowzResQ. Contact them at office@meoowzresq.org or (714) 997-0868, or see their website at meoowsresq.org . Looking for love Lisa Barker, age 14, is an ac- complished artistic freeskater, who has been training at the Holi- day Skate Center in Orange for the past three years. She is set to represent team USA this month at the World Championship in Ri- mini, Italy, competing in both the Junior Women Freeskating and World Class Quartets. Lisa began skating at age three as a casual hobby. By age six, her passion for the sport led her to enter local competitions. In 2016, Lisa secured first place at her first regional competition. By 2017, she made her debut at the National Championships, where she finished fourth. She placed in the top tiers at subsequent re- gionals and nationals, and won her first international freeskating championship last year in Taipei at 13. Her skating has taken her to world competitions in Colombia, and international competitions in Taiwan and Trieste, Italy. “These experiences boosted my confi- dence in international competi- tions,” she says, “and contribut- ed greatly to my development in skating, enhancing both my tech- nique and artistic expression. “ Holiday Skate Center is one of the top competitive rinks in the country.
