The five-day event, hosted by Orange's American Legion Post 132, transformed the community into a hub of youth baseball ex- citement. Orange buzzed with activity as eight teams competed in a 14- game series split between Hart Park and nearby Santa Ana Col- lege. Volunteers from Post 132 worked alongside visiting teams and their families, showcasing Orange's hospitality and commit- ment to youth sports. The tournament ran through July 29. The championship game on that Monday afternoon crowned the Clovis Post 147 Nighthawks as California State Champions. Nick Rosa, Commander overseeing all American Legion Posts in Cali- fornia, hands out the grand trophy to the Clovis Post 147 Nighthawks, winners of the California American Legion Baseball 2024 State Champi- onship Tournament hosted by Orange's own American Legion Post 132. The Villa Park Little League 10U All-Star Team finished the season in the number two spot in the state, falling shy of the state champion- ship in a challenging 3-2 loss to Aliso Viejo, July 28. The team’s achievement is still the best finish in Villa Park Little League history. The team’s outstanding season re- sulted from the players’ determi- nation and perseverance, as well as the dedication of the coaches.
