Candidates will be asked about preserving Old Towne historic structures and property values, traffic and parking issues, and Orange City Council Candidates - District 1 Arianna Barrios Serving Orange neighborhoods on the city council has been a tre- mendous honor. I’ve enjoyed digging into difficult policy issues and finding creative solutions to complex problems on behalf of residents who depend on their city council to protect their interests. The past 20 months on the Orange City Council has provided ex- tensive insight into how to move things forward at City Hall, and how things must change. Orange is at a crossroads that requires open and transparent leadership that works for the residents, not against them. Sadly, residents have been kept at arm’s length, and that needs to change. With important land-use issues, rising homeless impacts, open space threats and ongoing encroachments to our historic resources, now, more than ever, we need leadership that is responsive and willing to fight for the best interests of Orange’s special character. My record and experience have earned me bipartisan endorsements from Orange’s trusted leaders and public safety organizations, including former Or- ange Mayors Tita Smith and Carolyn Cavecche, Orange City Fire Fighters and City of Orange Police Association. For more, visit www.VoteBarrios.com. Jason White My life has been dedicated to public service. I am again answering that call, this time for the citizens of Orange, specifically in District 1. I joined the USMC out of high school and proudly served our country before being honorably discharged. While earning my B.A. in political science and my law degree, I entered into the public sector, working with unemployed Americans during the Great Recession. I continued my service by working for the DoD, the National Archives and the VA. I am running for city council to fulfill the broken promises made regarding increasing public safety, economic growth, mitigating the influx of homeless in our city, as well as maintaining the quality of life that citizens in Orange are accustomed to. My adult life has been dedicated to service, protecting those most in need. My military service and work experience have given me the courage and honor to keep my word, the insight on cutting through red tape and a knowledge of how to see tasks and goals accomplished. I humbly ask for your vote. jason@jasonfororange.org VP council candidates to meet in forum The Villa Park Community Services Foundation (VPCSF) in- vites Villa Park voters to partici- pate in its VP City Council Can- didates Forum on Wednesday, October 5 from 7-9 p.m. in the VP Council Chambers.
