CIF-SS announces 40th Hall of Fame Class The CIF-Southern Section in- ducted three local coaches into the 40th Hall of Fame at The Grand in Long Beach, Oct. 16. Iran Novick, former Foothill High School baseball coach, was honored for distinguished service. Novick served the baseball Advi- sory Committee for 30 years, and is head of the California Baseball Coaches Association. Former Orange High School women’s baseball coach Ed Prange coached the Panthers for two years. He was 1998 Orange County Coach of the Year, five time league coach of the year, with five league titles and near- ly 500 wins. Prange was voted Teacher of the Year by his peers in 2018. Steve Yancey competed, and was a CIF-SS finalist, in swim and water polo at Foothill and Tustin High Schools and CSULB. Yancey was a six-time Orange County Swim Coach of the Year and was named the California State Coach of the Year in 2015. Yancey coached over 100 All American swimmers and 45 wa- ter polo players, 16 national team players and was the Olympian Water Polo Coach of the Year in 1986 and 1991. Yancey serves as a CIF Advi- sory Committee member and has refereed 12 CIF-SS Champion- ships.
