Auctioneer Bruce Ferguson created a lively atmosphere dur- ing the live auction as attendees tried to out-bid each other for unique items that were donated by supportive friends and busi- nesses. A delicious traditional Texas style BBQ, complete with “white bread” was served, a surprise to some guests. The evening's enter- tainment, the Mowdy Band, pro- vided music for dancing under the stars. The Orange Park Association wishes to thank all who attended, donated items and volunteered. Special thanks to those whose generous contributions raised funds for the preservation and protection of the Orange Park Equestrian Community. St. Joseph Hospital lauded for cardiac care Providence St. Joseph Hospi- tal Orange has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Ap- proval and the American Heart Association’s Heart-Check mark for Comprehensive Cardiac Cer- tification. Only four hospitals in California, and less than 25 na- tionwide, have achieved this cer- tification. The hospital underwent rigor- ous, unannounced onsite reviews in August. During the visits, a team of Joint Commission re- viewers evaluated patient safety, quality of care delivery, and ad- herence to clinical practice guide- lines, which is delivering care according to the best and most recent medical evidence. Joint Commission Standards are devel- oped in consultation with health care experts and providers, mea- surement experts, and patients. The reviewers also conducted on- site observations and interviews. David Hillman, Pat Buttress and Mary Nori savor the flavor. Guests prepare to bid on items offered in the live auction.
