The renowned Chap- man University museum, totally dedicated to the display of Cali- fornia art, will open on Sat., Dec. 17 at 216 E. Chapman (formerly the U.S. Bank) with an exhibition featuring railroad and train paint- ings from the Mark and Janet Hilbert collection. The temporary space will be utilized until expan- sion of the Hilbert Museum at 167 North Atchison is completed, sometime in 2024. The Hilbert Museum originally opened in 2016, thanks to the gift of over 1,000 works of art and funding from the Hilberts. Museum hours will remain the same, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tues- day through Saturday; admission is free. For further information about exhibits, see HilbertMu- seum.org . Hilbert Museum is on the move The Orange Elks continue to support youth with the Third Grade Dictionary Program, providing dictionaries to over 1,900 students in 27 OUSD schools this year.
