Garcia IN CLASS Theory CLINICALS Practice FINAL EXAM Skills & Written CERTIFICATION START YOUR NURSING CAREER AS A CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - 220 hours CNAs play a vital role in providing hands-on patient care and many work in a care facility, hospital or private home in this high-demand career with many job opportunities. Successful completion of this in-person class prepares you to take the Competency Examination, to earn you a CNA certification. Earn Mission College credits to continue your nursing education. English Language Learners may be eligible to take classes for a reduced fee. Basic Requirements Be 18 yrs of age or older Have a Social Security or ITIN card Have a valid government-issued photo ID Driver’s license, state ID card, U.S. passport Have English language proficiency at the Advanced level. Reading test may be required depending on the students’ English language level. Health Requirements Physical exam and required immunizations, which include: Measle, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) Varicella (Chickenpox) Hepatitis B TDAP vaccine within 10 years COVID vaccines, including booster Tuberculosis (TB) clearance Quantiferon blood test (less than 1 yr old) OR Chest x-ray (taken within the last 2 years) that documents no signs of active TB. The FUHSD Adult School received an English Language Learner (ELL) Healthcare Grant in order to provide English language learners with access to vocational pathways in healthcare, which is crucial for ensuring diverse representation and meeting the growing demands of the healthcare industry. The following student support is funded through the grant: Extra language help through special ESL classes.
