To my surprise, my friends had to invest a considerable amount for mounting and framing them and Karen, my instructor, graciously initiated a class exclusively for mounting to meet our needs. Since then, mounting the thin rice paper has breathed new life into my paintings, and I’ve found immense delight in sharing my journey and insights with our fellow classmates.” - Dorothy Chew , Chinese Calligraphy student “Volunteering as a GED tutor has been very rewarding. The students come from all sorts of backgrounds. Some are immigrants or never completed high school for situational or personal reasons. All very much want to improve themselves and claim their place in our society. I love being a part of their journey. It has been a real pleasure to be a volunteer at the FUHSD Adult School. The staff has been very supportive and very much want to see the students succeed. They have good leadership that is on top of any issues. They also proactively check in with the volunteers to see how things are going. I appreciate their efforts.” - Ken Sell , ASE Math Tutor Bright Beginnings Level 7 Student Ambassadors Teacher Verna’s class donated food and time to make International Day a huge success. Students and community members joined in to eat, dance, and celebrate. This active participation in the school and the community is what makes Bright Beginnings special. Their hard work is appreciated.
