It typically comes out in mid-April, completely blanketing the coastline in popping pink hues, peaks in early to middle May and can last into June. Where there was once poison oak lining the blu , a local resident named Hayes Perkins planted the rst pink ice plant in its place. e pink ice plant grows most abundant at Perkins Park but starts at Lovers Point and goes all the way to Asilomar State Beach. is area is special to Paci c Grove residents.
