Rex Watson here, stomping in with BIG excitement for our Fall/Winter Fun Guide – your official map to all chilly-weather fun, cozy community events and cool programs happening here in Watsonville! Here are some of the dino-mite activities I'm excited about: School may be back in session, but the FUN continues with Camp WOW Saturdays and Mondays, gymnastics, Fall soccer, and so much more! The Nucleus will be hosting a Back-to-School Garden Party, a Mexican Independence Day Celebration, a Halloween Parade, and a Día de Los Muertos Altar. Turn to page 10 for more details. Keep the kids active over Thanksgiving break with fun-filled camps like volleyball, basketball, Camp WOW and extra open hours at the Watsonville Youth Center and The Nucleus. Our 50 and better community can look forward to a NEW jewelry making workshop on Tuesdays from 2-3 PM starting in October. Plus, mark your calendars — the Senior Prom will be held on October 18. The courses in this program teach participants the knowledge and skills needed to give immediate care to an injured or ill person and to decide whether advanced medical care is needed. This is a one-day training. This class is taught in English only.
