Upon reopening, many offices adopted a universally safe and practical way to protect EVERYONE until further notice. Here’s your tour guide to explain the updates to you: Welcome to your dental office! Please keep your mask on until asked to remove it. OK, here we are in the reception area. You’ll notice: only two chairs for waiting, the absence of magazines and a plexiglass shield separating you from the receptionist behind the counter. What to Expect When You’re Expecting Your Next Dental Visit She/he will take and record your temperature and have you fill out a COVID Screening questionnaire. Be honest! We are now in the treatment room. While you gargle with this natural mouth rinse, I’ll tell you how the assistant cleaned the room in two stages before we entered: After disinfecting all the room’s surfaces, she fogged the room with a natural, safe germicide that attacks airborne germs. Speaking of air! We have one dental chair per treatment room, so airborne particles aren’t shared among patients and staff. We also have a special tool that captures aerosolized droplets while we work. That’s nice to know, right? The dental teammates wear paper gowns, particularly thick masks, eye protection and/or face shields, in addition to gloves. Seem antiseptic? You’re absolutely right!
