Breast Augmentation Breast augmentation, or breast enlargement, uses breast implants to increase the size of the breasts at the same time that the surgeon reshapes the breast. This procedure is usually adopted by women with small breasts, women who have an asymmetry between the breasts or women who have lost volume after pregnancy and/or nursing. Breast augmentation surgery generally lasts between 1 and 3 hours at one of our affiliated surgical facilities. Breast Lift Breasts sag due to a number of reasons. Loss of skin elasticity, time, gravity, weight loss, pregnancy, or breastfeeding may negatively affect the position and shape of the breasts. A breast lift or mastopexy surgery, eliminates sagging skin to reduce sag, restore perkiness, and resolve asymmetries. Breast lifts are often performed in conjunction with breast augmentation during a single surgical session. This combination procedure is known as an augmentation mastopexy and is also called a breast augmentation with lift. Combining a breast lift and implants results in increased perkiness, volume, and projection and a reduction in breast sag.
