SkinPen is effective at treating the following skin conditions: • Fine lines & wrinkles • Mild skin laxity (i.e., “crepey” skin around the eyelids) • Scars • Stretch marks • Age spots • Sun damage • Acne • Hyperpigmentation • Large pores
Unlike other non-surgical treatments, SkinPen has been clinically shown to be effective for women and men of all skin types . If you have wrinkles, acne, scars, age spots, and/or large pores you want to treat, SkinPen microneedling may be right for you. Microneedling may not be right for you if you have active skin irritation or infection, you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or you are currently taking Accutane or a similar isotretinoin drug.
Though just one treatment can give you smoother, more radiant skin, we recommend patients undergo three treatments spaced in one-month intervals for maximum results. While your skin begins healing itself immediately, it will continue to improve as new collagen is produced—therefore your results should be visible within four to six weeks after your initial treatment, with skin tone continuing to improve for another couple of months. After your initial SkinPen treatments, you can begin maintenance treatments to retain your hard-earned results.
SkinPen microneedling is best described as mildly uncomfortable but not painful . To minimize any discomfort, your esthetician will apply a topical numbing ointment to your skin before treatment, and OTC pain relievers may be recommended following treatment.
One of the greatest benefits of SkinPen microneedling is that it requires little to no downtime . It is performed as an outpatient procedure with no anesthesia required. Some redness is normal for the first few days following treatment and should quickly dissipate. You can resume your normal activities immediately after treatment, though we advise patients to wait until the following day before applying makeup. You’ll also want to apply a broad-spectrum SPF to protect your treated skin from the sun, as it will be more sensitive for the first few days.
Most people feel only a slight momentary “snap” at the treatment site during the procedure. After treatment, it’s normal to experience a mild, sunburn-like sensation, possibly accompanied by some minor redness and/or swelling immediately following the treatment. These side effects usually lasts 2-24 hours. While this can be slightly inconvenient, you can resume regular daily activities immediately following treatment.
The Vectus can safely be used on all skin types from very light skin to very dark skin. It is best if the hair is black or brown, however, your provider will determine if you are a good candidate for the procedure based on a variety of factors.
Hair may be shaved, trimmed, and cut. It may not be tweezed, waxed, or removed with depilatories. This disrupts the hair growth pattern by causing trauma and resistance to the follicles. Though many share this concern, the hair in the treatment area will not grow back darker or courser due to shaving. With each treatment, fewer hair follicles remain. In fact, the area needs to be freshly shaved before your treatment session. You may shave the area the day before the treatment or the day of the treatment before coming in for your session.
PRP hair restoration is a method of restoring hair naturally using your own growth factors found in your blood supply. PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma, and it is a part of the blood that is rich in restorative substances. When these platelets are administered to areas of the scalp that have suffered thinning or baldness, they can jumpstart dormant follicles, stimulating them to begin producing hair once again
PRP hair restoration is appropriate for both men and women with a variety of skin types and conditions. However, this treatment is not the ideal choice for everyone. The best candidates tend to fall into the following categories: • Current hair loss is still in the early stages • Hair loss is still confined to smaller areas of the scalp • Hair follicles are still functioning but “weak” • Hair loss is caused by alopecia areata t t r l
