This beloved Los Angeles institution with five very popular locations chose Moreno Valley for its first Inland Empire home. A deli at its heart, it is named after the two greatest sandwich towns; New Orleans — birthplace of the po’boy and the muffulettas— and New York, where once you try a proper Brooklyn deli sandwich or the infamous bodega chopped cheese, it will forever become the bar to which all sandwiches are then measured. And before you ask: yes they do serve all the aforementioned specialties with full commitment to both hot, and cold sandwich experiences. Passionate to every carefully sourced detail is shown; the bread is baked in-house, and hot sandwiches are grilled fresh to order. No rewarmed frozen food here. The pickle chips are crisp and premium. Seafood is battered, fried or grilled freshly. Even as a seafood-forward restaurant it never smells fishy! Where to begin on the menu is the real question. The selection is huge! Offering something to any tastes including; shrimp and grits, breakfast sandwiches, rice bowls, salads, red beans and rice, as well as curated burgers, a serious wing menu, gumbo, and seafood platters.
