Riverside - January-February 2022
“I was tired of feeling tired,” laughs Viviana, member of the Karla Adams Club. She confesses, “I would hide at home and I wouldn’t go to parties or events. I finally got tired of hiding and not feeling good about myself. I knew I needed to work with someone who knew what to do. I had heard about Karla 10 years ago, because people all over Riverside knew about her.” A wife and working mom of two increasingly independent boys, Viviana now looks forward to doing personalized workouts in the Karla Adams Transformation On-the-Go Webinar ystem. The convenience of being able to access workouts anywhere and anytime is a powerful tool for creating lasting lifestyle change during uncertain times. Determined to pick her kids up from school feeling like an example of health and fitness, Viviana has stuck to her workout regimen and meal plan. She gushes, “In the first three months, I just shed the pounds. It was just from the clean eating and working out.” About 6 months after Viviana started her lifestyle journey, her husband Robbie recognized her elevated energy levels. Robbie chuckles, “Vivi was looking good. I wanted some of that energy.” He reveals, “At that time, I was pre-diabetic. I had arthritis. I was tired of being miserable, and I was tired of my aches and pains.” Robbie then decided to join the Club, and so the family transformation began. Robbie shares, “We have a gym at home and the webinar system is convenient if you don’t want to leave your house [during a pandemic]. You can still get the job done.” Viviana adds, “Karla can see us work out. It’s nice that she is knowledgeable about how to use the equipment. It’s not like going to those other big places where no one cares if you’re working out correctly.” Structured workouts, clean eating and teamwork have led the family to shed a total of 120 pounds. With conflicting work schedules and parental duties, Robbie and Viviana admit that it is challenging to find time to care for their children, work out and prep meals. However, they both push through the formidable circumstances of daily life fueled by a shared sense of family duty. “It’s my obligation to show my kids how to lead a healthy life and not end up with diabetes. I want them to have the information that I didn’t have growing up ,” declares Robbie. Viviana credits Karla Adams with teaching her how to eat healthy and avoid processed food. She exclaims in rapid fire, “Once I started eating healthy, all the [skin] itching went away! My stomach issues went away! My gut felt better! I had more energy! I felt good!” Robbie adds, “It was initially a fight [with the kids] against sugar, but we had a talk with the boys and showed them what dierent foods do to the body. Their friends thought they were weird, but we really pulled together as a family.” When reflecting on the whole experience, Viviana reveals, “It has become a family thing. Robbie takes the boys into the garage and shows them a [workout] routine from the app, and they do it together. He’s trying to get them excited about it.” Robbie beams, “My kids say things like, ‘Dad, you’re bu! Your muscles are huge!’ It’s good to hear from my kids like that. It’s good to have your kids look up to you.” Both Robbie and Viviana disclose that they regularly face very real challenges in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Work and home obligations, along with increasingly picky adolescents who want to assert their gastronomic independence, all make for daunting road blocks along the path to wellness. When asked why they continue to do what they do, both Robbie and Viviana agree, “We are not doing this expecting to live forever. It’s the quality of life that we are after. If we get to live a life, we want it to be a good quality of life.” Transformation On-The-Go 1.800.260.6348 www.karlaadams.com Family Transformations Over 100 lbs Lost TOGETHER FOOD BALANCE & PLANNING INCREASE LEAN MASS BODY FAT REDUCTION INCREASE YOUR METABOLIC RATE FAMILY TRANSFORMATIONS This program is designed for families with a busy lifestyle that want a custom plan to clean up the foods and implement exercise as a weekly routine.
