Hi, Everyone, Fall is upon us, the kids are back in the swing of school and their activities, and the end of the year holidays are upon us 2023 for Paramount Landscape was a mixture of being completely inundated with work to a few weeks of a slow down, then back to jobs pouring. At times this is the life of a contractor. Feast or famine as they say. This was different from 2021 and 2022 when we couldn’t do the work fast enough or get to the next client soon enough. I feel like this year we are finally getting back to a normal post COVID. We have been blessed to be able to continue to keep our reliable crewmen working, take care of our existing clients, and build new relationships with new customers. We appreciate and feel very fortunate to have to opportunity to getting those calls and emails to bid future projects. So, if you didn’t already know Fall is the best time of the year to get your yard back in shape. And if you’re not ready its better to plan now than when everyone else is planning or landscaping in spring and summer. The next 7 months of mild weather is very favorable to establish new plantings. However I don’t recommend waiting till May or June to get your plans and dreams in motion. We obviously landscape year round but now is the best time. I have been landscaping since I was 19, and Paramount has been serving the inland empire and surrounding areas sin 09. Time has flown by We started as a soft scape specialist landscape company, which means installing irrigation, plants, trees, lighting, and lawn. We have a very solid foundation for plant types that are beautiful and survive in this climate. We however in the past 6 year have slowly moved into doing a lot more concrete, pavers, and synthetic turf as well. This allows us to have more control of the design from beginning to the end. And as a result the projects turn out better and run smoother. Plus for the client if there is an issue, questions, or a problem there is no wondering who they need to talk to or finger pointing. Early on in my career we would come into the project at the end and find trash, concrete left in the planters, planters without infrastructure put in place for irrigation or lighting, and we would have to get really creative or undue what had been done just to be able to do our job. Or the client would get the hardscape contractors that would try and get every square foot of the yard poured in concrete or synthetic turf to make the yard perfect if you were trying to build a backyard parking lot. Just like in life there needs to be a balance. In Landscaping there needs to be balance between aesthetics, and being user friendly.
