FOR INDIVIDUALS, EMPLOYERS, AND THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY! DESERT ARC MEETS PEOPLE WHERE THEY ARE Desert Arc, known for enhancing the quality of life and creating opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, continues to successfully match its clients with rewarding employment opportunities. The organization’s highly- successful EMPLOYMENT SERVICES PROGRAM is designed to support individuals in preparing for, securing, and maintaining meaningful employment. Desert Arc’s clients are proud of the independence and fulfillment they experience from employment and also a job well done. As part of the organization’s Employment Services Program, Desert Arc offers employers a paid Internship Program (PIP), in partnership with the Inland Regional Center. Employers feel this program is highly effective because it offers them the best opportunity to become familiar with an employee’s abilities, while at the same time, allowing the employee to feel comfortable with the employer, to ensure it is the right fit. This valuable steppingstone often leads to permanent employment opportunities with local employers, as well as, greater independence for Desert Arc clients. “When people are given the opportunity to contribute in meaningful ways, they build confidence and achieve greater independence, and this helps create stronger more inclusive communities,” said Michelle Peters, President/CEO of Desert Arc.
